Laura Koistinen is Pusula based Finnish dancer, choreographer and teacher. She is giving workshops and morning classes both in her hometown Lohja in different dance schools and workshops organized herself, and for professional dancers in different dance platforms.
She gets inspired by people, growing vegetables, good, ambitious and truthful art and simple things.
Laura graduated from Theatre Academy of Finland in 2009. Since that she´s been working with several Finnish choreographers as a dancer, Since 2012 she started to also teach more and create her own choreographies.
Laura´s work as a dancer, choreographer and teacher have been said to be fresh, hilarious and human. In her choreographys dancers seem to be deeply connected to the world of creation and to their personal working with movement.
Her choreographys have been selected both in finnish and international festivals as Tanssivirtaa in Tampere, Finland (Speaking of, Harmony), Icehot in Helsinki, Finland (Harmony), Zil in Moscow, Russia (Harmony) and Rencontres de Monthelon in Montreal, France (Harmony).
In her work Laura is interested in sense of time, using time...time as a limit and possibility, honesty and questionning how to exist while performing inside certain created world. More specific themes and questions to handle in creations comes from life itself.
